The Salted Line housing for Sony A6700 cameras is part of a new series of hybrid housings designed for underwater photography and videography. It is tough enough to withstand the ocean's raw power, including big waves and rough shore breaks.

The Salted Line A6700 Housing, bundled with a 6-inch Optically Correct Acrylic V1 Dome Port and a compact 23mm extension adapter ring, supports a range of wide-angle zoom and prime E-mount lenses.

This housing provides full control of all camera functions (excluding the touchscreen) and is equipped with a standard bayonet mount with a 90mm diameter, compatible with a wide range of Sea Frogs dry flat and dome ports (except those made for A6xxx and RX1xx camera housings).

How deep can it go?

The Salted Line housing for Sony A6700 cameras is rated for depths of up to 40 meters (130 feet), ensuring reliable underwater performance.

The Salted Line A6700 version offers several upgrades over the standard Sea Frogs housing, including:

  • Photo/Video/S&Q switch: Universal M33 accessories port for external monitor connection

  • Improved Visibility: A larger LCD screen window enhances visibility.

  • Precision Control: Compatibility with a detachable 2-stage shutter grip trigger.

  • Enhanced resistance to hydrodynamic shock for use in harsh conditions.

The control buttons have a 70% increase in spring stiffness, offering better tactile feedback for precise control. Whether you're into underwater or surf videography, this housing provides enhanced durability, functionality, and precision, making it the ideal choice for Sony A6700 users seeking to film stunning footage in challenging environments.

Acrylic vs Glass

Acrylic ports deliver solid image quality in most scenarios, and they have the advantages of being lighter, more affordable, and easier to repair. Glass dome ports, while offering slightly superior image quality in specific conditions and better scratch resistance, cannot be repaired if scratched.

6" vs 8"

The 6" domes deliver excellent image quality in most shooting conditions while being significantly more compact and travel-friendly, making them the preferred choice for many users. While 8" domes can offer slightly improved edge sharpness, their larger size makes them bulkier and less convenient to transport.

What is Surf Edition?

Dome Ports include a lens shade that protects them from accidental contact with objects during use and offers benefits in some shooting conditions. The Surf Edition Dome Ports are designed without a lens shade to minimize drag when shooting in large waves.
